The Myton Hospices will be joining Coventry City FC for this year’s festive match day, bringing volunteers, Christmas cheer and vital fundraising efforts to the Coventry Building Society Arena on Saturday 13th December.
As Coventry City take on Bristol City in their Christmas home fixture, Myton’s team of volunteers will be stationed outside the stadium and inside Dhillon’s Brewery, collecting donations to support the charity’s vital work across Coventry and Warwickshire. Supporters arriving early for a pre-match drink or heading straight to the turnstiles will spot Myton’s collectors, who will be equipped with cash collection buckets and card readers.
Adding to the festive atmosphere, Santa and his sleigh will also be joining the charity on the day, offering families a chance to enjoy some Christmas magic before cheering on the Sky Blues.
Rachael Ryan, Community Fundraising Manager at The Myton Hospices, said:
“We’re so grateful to Coventry City Football Club and to every supporter who takes a moment to drop a donation in the bucket or tap their card to donate. These contributions truly mean the world to us. They help to ensure we can care for patients and families when they need us most, especially at this time of year. We can’t wait to see everyone on match day!”
Every donation will help The Myton Hospices continue providing the compassionate, specialist care that so many local people rely on. The charity receives only 17% of its funding from the NHS and must raise £12.7 million this year to keep its services running. Match day collections like this one play an essential role in ensuring more people can access the care they need and deserve, now and in the future.
Supporters attending the game are encouraged to look out for Myton volunteers from 1pm, ahead of the 3pm kick-off.
